We are currently working on a platform that promotes experiential travel. Experiential travel is defined as travel that emphasizes understanding a place in one’s own terms – achieved by moving through a place slowly, forming a relationship with the current environment, challenging assumptions and learning something new about the place or themselves. Most current travel platforms flatten experiences and encourage checklist travel, which encourages efficiency, familiarity, and optimization. Our project takes a less algorithm-driven approach, focusing fully on personalization and engagement.
