Bridges for Learning Transfer
While students may master a concept in one learning context, research shows that they often have trouble transferring that knowledge into a new learning context. This is particularly challenging in non-traditional learning environments such as educational games. In this proposed project, we study where student understanding breaks down in an educational game, and explore the design of bridging activities that help student connect concepts to traditional learning tasks.
