People who have been doing an activity for years find greater value in that activity than beginners because their experience has taught them to engage in that activity in complex and unapparent ways. For example, a painter might deeply appreciate the slightest brush-stroke on the side of a bird, for they have spent many hours painting such brushstrokes, while that same splotch of paint might go unnoticed by a newer painter. On the other hand, beginners are more likely to be exposed to only a few aspects of an activity. This project seeks to support beginners to expansively participate in any activity, finding value not only in the most obvious joys, but in all the little, hidden ones too. The theory of change is a dialectical search process which models and supports the beginner's potential for expansive activity appreciation while challenging their limiting beliefs.
